Mullen is located at the junction of NE Hwy 2 and NE Hwy 97. We are approximately: 70 miles north of North Platte, NE, 65 miles south of Valentine, NE, 100 miles west of Broken Bow, NE, and 100 miles east Alliance, NE. Mullen is a small village of approximately 500 people. We are located in almost the geographical center of an area known as the Sandhills. Mullen is the county seat of Hooker County, Nebraska and is the only remaining town in the county.
Mullen is within a days drive of many historical locations in Nebraska including: Scott's Bluff National Monument, Chimney Rock, Ash Hollow, Fort Robinson, and Buffalo Bill's Scouts Ranch. We are also within a days drive of attractions in South Dakota and Colorado such as: Mount Rushmore, Historic Lead and Deadwood, Crazy Horse Monument, and Rose Bud Casino in SD and Estes Park, CO. Mullen is approximately an 8 hour drive from Denver or Omaha. So, get off of the Interstate and take the scenic route through the Sandhills. Make Mullen a stopping point on your next trip!
