The Village Players is a community theatre company based in
Hyannis, Nebraska, pop. 210, located in the heart of the  beautiful Nebraska Sandhills region. The VPs have been dubbed "The biggest little theatre company in America".

This past year marked the VP's 54th production, spanning 22 years of community theatre as well as sponsorship  of  visiting artists in the community and regional schools. The troupe is comprised of an ever-changing cast of local characters who share a love of live theatre, heavy lifting, long hours, and the camaraderie of like-minded souls.

Founded by Al Davis, Steve and Ginger Fouse, Gary Naylor, and Rick Rothwell in 1980, the Village Player membership has included innumerable members of all ages throughout its colorful history.  The VPs stage live productions at the Intermission Theatre  in greater metropolitan Hyannis, and have  toured extensively throughout the region.

The VP and Council for the Cultural Arts is staffed by volunteers and is supported,
in part, by grants from the Nebraska Arts Council, The Nebraska Humanities Council, State agencies, and by the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency.

In 2002, the VPs celebrate their 22nd year of proudly
"keeping the arts alive in the Nebraska Sandhills"
